| | Requirements: Must be able to operate computers, cameras and vehicles in a high stress environment with deadline pressures and the demands of breaking news, which can happen at any time. The position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority. The position requires the transport of equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Position often requires work in outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures, rain, snow and severe weather events. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required. | | Additional Information:
• News photojournalists will gather video and information in the field, work closely with reporters and other newsroom staff and deliver content quickly. Teamwork with a reporter is essential, but some days you may gather news solo.
• Shoot and edit video stories under tight deadlines.
• Operate microwave, satellite live trucks, IP based live transmission gear and other broadcast equipment.
• Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts as necessary, including overnights/early morning, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Photojournalists will also be cross-trained as newscast show editors.
• Must present a professional image as a representation of the station at all times.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Specialized Skills:
• Demonstrate solid ethical news judgment and attention to detail.
• Understand basic storytelling, shooting, lighting, audio and editing techniques. Our team takes pride in maintaining a high level of quality, including impeccable lighting in the field.
